Hillary Speaks Out Now Let’s Move Forward

Hillary has finally spoken out sharing her thoughts on the election. She did so as a guest of the Women for Women International Luncheon in New York City. As reported by E.M. White “During the event, Clinton had a conversation with Christiane Amanpour. The two discussed a number of issues including the Donald Trump administration, a potential conflict with North Korea, and the 2016 presidential election. While Clinton accepted the blame for her loss, she said that there were a number of other factors including the letter from FBI Director James Comey and Russian hacking of the emails of the Democratic National Committee and Hillary for America Campaign Director John Podesta. Clinton went on to say “she would have won the election if it had not been for the Comey letter and Wikileaks in late October adding, “If the election had been held on October 27, I’d be your president, and it wasn’t. It was after October 28.” Clinton did not deflect all of the blame saying that her campaign made mistakes. “I was the candidate, I was the person who was on the ballot and I am very aware of the challenges, the problems, the shortfalls that we had,” she admitted. Clinton vowed to remain active in politics as a citizen and urged everyone to do the same.”

So reporters pounced. One could feel Andrea Mitchell’s glee at getting to report this and again infer Clinton was blaming everyone but herself. This from Mitchell who went more overboard than most attacking Clinton during the campaign relying on what often turned out to come from Russian hacking which she never questioned.

The fact is until Clinton spoke out like this she could not move forward. She had to listen to Bernie Sanders and Joe Biden attack her and her campaign and saying without any kind of proof or inkling of reality they could have won.

Books are being written and money being made analyzing her campaign from every angle and of course hindsight is always 20/20. Comey has now admitted the FBI was investigating Trump back in July 2016 but he only talked about the Clinton investigation during the campaign. We also know President Obama knew about the Russian hacking and Wikileaks during the campaign but didn’t feel the information was conclusive enough to make a big deal about it then. Some think when Comey first spoke out against Clinton it would have been a big enough deal, but be that as it may it’s now about Congress and the FBI investigating Trump’s connections to the Russians.

So now Clinton has spoken out and the press has jumped all over her again which I believe she knew would happen, maybe she can finally begin to resume her voice. Many will rightly assume its misogyny and sexism that lets elder statesmen like Biden and losing elder politicians like Sanders to speak out and get praised. No other candidate for President other than President Obama has ever gotten 66 million Americans to vote for them and I would suggest no other politician has as much right to continue to speak out on the issues.

Hillary Clinton has said she is not running for office again and I believe her. But that doesn’t mean the world should lose her intelligence, her wisdom and her ability to spur others on to do better. We should not allow her voice speaking out for minorities, immigrants, women, girls, the disabled and the LGBTQ community to be silenced.

Neither should we allow her ability to rally people and raise funds to rebuild the Democratic Party be wasted. While Senator Sanders and Senator Warren are out criticizing President Obama for making speeches Hillary is speaking out on the issues that impact people. While Sanders is proclaiming loudly he isn’t a Democrat and questioning whether Jon Ossoff our candidate for Congress in GA. is progressive enough for him Hillary is supporting the Party and rallying women in speeches to women’s groups across the nation. It is those women across every spectrum of life who will help Democrats reclaim our nation.

It is my wish to see the new generation of Democrats come forward to lead our Party and be our candidates of the future. Hillary is the one Democrat we know will put aside her own ego and support them, build them up, and raise funds to help them win elections in every state and every Congressional District. Not sure we can say the same for all the others. Hillary has proven she will support the Democratic Party and help to rebuild our state parties.

So the time has come for Democrats to stop attacking Hillary and rather focus all our attacks on Trump and the Republican Congress. It is time for Sanders and Warren to stop attacking Barack Obama on receiving money for a speech and focus their attacks on Republicans who are in the process of destroying our nation.

It is time for the Clinton folks and the Sanders folks who are Democrats, and every other Democrat and clear thinking Independent, to come together with one goal which must be to win back state legislatures, governorship’s and Congress in 2017 and 2018. If we can do that the Party has a group of young, smart, and worthy candidates who will vie for what will be a worthwhile Democratic nomination in 2020.

My hope is that all who are interested and dreaming about being that candidate prove their mettle by fighting every day between now and November of 2018 to help Democrats win back our country.
